You're In Business

Uropanet Ltd (SportReTiNA) is a legitimate UK-based deep-tech startup developing AI-powered sports video analysis hardware and software. The project demonstrates high technical innovation (custom hardware, computer vision, PhD founder) and clear real-world utility for sports coaching. However, the submission is critically flawed: it contains demonstrably false traction claims ('most people have used my product'), vague targeting ('everyone'), and confusing financial metrics ('marketcap' instead of revenue). Actual verified traction is minimal (~£4k annual revenue, <300 beta users), placing it firmly in the early-stage category. The score is penalized significantly for the dishonest traction claims and poor response quality, despite the promising underlying technology.

Description
Uropanet (trading as SportReTiNA) aims to revolutionise sports training and participation by democratising access to AI-powered video technology and learning resources. We have designed and built a consumer-grade sports camera system together with a cloud-based AI/ML software platform to empower coaches and clubs with innovative tools, allowing them to foster athlete development and boost overall participation. By bridging the gap between technology and sports, we unlock new avenues for revenue generation, amplifying the capacity to nurture talent and sports community engagement. Without such innovation, the current limitations of traditional practices could stifle athlete development and hinder inclusive participation, constraining opportunities for growth. Our innovation brings together our expertise in embedded systems, computer vision and web technologies to create an integrated product consisting of an affordable professional-grade camera system for video acquisition and an AI-powered cloud platform for data management and processing to deliver those services that will help sports providers and coaches to increase participation and revenue as well as nurture talents amongst their athletes. In particular, we have four key objectives: (1) democratise technology accessibility, by using a cloud infrastructure to offer services such as enhanced live streaming, interactive coaching and virtual training sessions; (2) provide precision performance analysis, by using machine learning algorithms to analyse video data and provide personalised feedback to empower participants to refine their skills and enhance performance effectively; (3) create data-driven analytical tools, delivered using web apps, to assess athletes’ performance during training and competitions; (4) create new levels of fan engagement (eg from family and friends) through interactive services such as live streaming.
