You're In Business

The Harvest Fund is a legitimate 501(c)(3) nonprofit working to empower women farmers in Zambia. However, the submission itself contains blatantly false and low-effort claims (e.g., audience is 'everyone', traction is 'most people have used my product', project name 'FrostStone'). While the mission has high real-world utility, the organization operates on a small scale (~$186k annual revenue, ~10 cooperatives) compared to the 'all time marketcap: 2500000' claim. The score is heavily penalized for the inaccurate and unprofessional submission details which contradict the actual, verifiable niche impact of the organization.

Description
We are a nonprofit social enterprise working to empower women farmers through microfinance and training in sustainable, climate-smart agricultural practices and technologies, promoting gender equality while helping African women rise from poverty. The Harvest Fund was founded to lift rural African women who farm, and their households, out of poverty. Initially launched as a charitable non-profit, we now leverage our agronomic business expertise through a hybrid social enterprise model that combines philanthropic capital with farmer revenue. Through our unique program we work with registered cooperatives of women smallholders, selecting the most talented, aiming to bridge the "agricultural gender gap" that exists in many countries in the Global South where women are the backbone of agriculture yet toil away with their bare hands and feet and very few agricultural tools. Through our three-year model, we link these women farmers with climate-smart technologies and train them in efficient, sustainable agricultural practices so their households can escape extreme poverty, avoid undernutrition, and fully educate the next generation. We believe in, and our model supports, the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development by 2030: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Gender Equality, Affordable Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, Climate Action, Life on Land and Partnerships for the Goals. Learn more at www.theharvestfund.org We believe in transparency and high impact for every individual, institutional and corporate donor.
