You're In Business

Tastermonial is a legitimate early-stage personalized nutrition startup backed by a USDA grant and approx. $270k in pre-seed funding. While the concept of crowdsourcing glucose data (citizen science) is highly relevant and the market timing is perfect, the project submission itself contained hyperbolic and false claims (e.g., 'most people have used my product') which severely undermined credibility. Actual traction is modest (estimated <5k users, low app store review counts), though the business generates revenue through test kit sales.

Description
We want to debunk the myth that eating healthfully is boring, expensive, and unattainable in today's new processed food environment. Tastermonial built an app to empower grocery shoppers to make nutritious food choices by crowdsourcing glucose responses to challenge food labels. To do this, we are growing a community of citizen scientists to join us in discovering how foods impact our bodies, and collectively challenge food labels or vet food marketing claims.
