Gaining Momentum

The San Diego Math Circle is a legitimate regional educational non-profit providing valid real-world utility for local students. However, the project submission itself contains exaggerated and nonsensical claims regarding traction ('most people have used my product') and financials ('all time marketcap: 2500000'). Given the lack of a verifiable tech product, minimal digital audience reach, and poor response quality, the score appropriately reflects minimal digital traction while acknowledging the underlying offline community value.

Description
The San Diego Math Circle is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity incorporated in the State of California. We operate in ongoing collaboration with the University of California San Diego, and prior to 2014 operated as a casual organization under the auspices of the Art of Problem Solving Foundation In practice, we are a consortium of individuals and groups collaborating to serve the exceptional educational needs of exceptional mathematics and science students. Most SDMC activities take place on the campus of the University of California San Diego, managed by dedicated volunteers and taught by a diverse slate of professionals from the greater San Diego area. The purpose of SDMC is not only to promote excellence in mathematics, but to develop a broad and deep understanding of how to solve problems. The thought processes developed at the SDMC will help students in any logical endeavor, be it mathematics, science, business, law, etc. Our goal is to teach students how to think creatively and effectively. Though our name focuses on mathematics, we also conduct activities in mathematically-related science and engineering disciplines including physics and computer science. Though our focus is largely local, we are involved in activities at many levels, from local to international. Though most activities focus on serving our member students, we sponsor numerous activities with an outreach mission in service of the needs of our broader community and in some cases, beyond our regional borders. We welcome support in all forms.
