Salo Radiotele appears to be a legitimate but niche engineering consultancy based in Finland, specializing in custom IoT hardware. While the technical description of the 'IoT Monitor' is detailed and plausible, the submission suffers significantly from exaggerated claims regarding audience reach ('everyone') and traction ('most people have used my product'). The reported financial metric ('marketcap: 500000') suggests a small-scale operation (likely <$60k/year average over 9 years for a team of 6), placing it in the 'Small/Minimal Traction' category compared to the calibration baseline.

Description
Salo Radiotele develops custom WiFi IoT applications leveraging an in-house platform, IoT Monitor. IoT Monitor is a small piece of electronics that integrates a WLAN module together with several different sensors. The module drives the measurements on attached sensors and sends results to cloud service. First implemented cloud service is Microsoft Azure and its SQL database. In other words the IoT Monitor can be easily installed anywhere with WiFi internet available and it can make measurements to cloud service without any further hardware. IoT Monitor also features a micro-SD card that we use for storing configuration information and buffering measurement results. It can also receive configuration change information from cloud and update its parameters. This small band-with downlink connection can also be used for downlink controls using WLAN module’s PWM outputs. IoT Monitor measurements can be triggered periodically, but also by an external trigger. Several independent trigger lines are supported. Trigger lines can simply either be ”clamped” to 240V power lines with a current transformer or connected to a light sensitive component that can follow a signal lamps on an instrument panel. With triggered measurements perhaps the timestamps are more important than actual sensor readings. Salo Radiotele is a registered trademark of Rekijoki Electronics Oy.
