Portabl is a legitimate decentralized identity platform (founded 2020) that was acquired by Prove in January 2025, validating its technology and utility. The project raised $2.5M in seed funding and built W3C-compliant financial identity tools. However, the specific submission provided contains false and unprofessional claims (e.g., 'most people have used my product'), which significantly lowered the Quality Factors and Audience Reach scores despite the project's actual real-world success.

Description
We got started based on the belief that people should verify, organize, and maintain their own financial identity and connect it to any service provider they wish, whether that's in web2 or web3. In short, take your verified identity with you when and where you need it. Self-owned data is a must-do for the next generation of open banking and finance . \n\nThat's why we're building sign up, sign in, and identity management tools that focus on user-owned and user-permissioned data, implemented through our take on W3C standards. \n\nReshaping identity lets us simplify and automate many parts of the identity stack that currently prevent the financial system from being more cost-effective, inclusive, privacy-preserving and equitable. By leaning on new standards in decentralized identity, we will deliver a portable financial identity that works for everyone.\n\nWe’re a small team of builders and tinkerers comprised of Web2 and Web3 veterans hailing from Consensys, Paypal, US Mobile, Ava Labs, and other corners of the fintech and regtech universe. Come join us!\n
