Neighborhoods.com is looking for a Lead Software Engineer to lead a small team responsible for improving and maintaining our customer-facing websites. A successful candidate will have the technical experience to execute projects with little support, and has a willingness to analyze problems and suggest solutions for business stakeholders with a variety of demands.\n\nThis role and all interviews will be 100% remote. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas.\n\nSalary range: $135,000-$145,000\n\n**What you'll be doing as a Lead Software Engineer:**\n\n- Migrate two existing websites, 55places.com and neighborhoods.com, to WordPress.\n- Ensure that caching is enabled via Cloudflare and that request routing prioritizes traffic to the WordPress sites over all other routes.\n- Improve performance of the new WordPress sites to exceed a target goal of 90 on standard performance tests: [https://web.dev/performance-scoring/](https://web.dev/performance-scoring/)\n- Integrate new websites with analytics, marketing and engagement systems, to allow tracking, acquiring and engaging with customers.\n- Develop new features or enhancements and fix bugs, in a prioritized manner, with the support of the product organization.\n- Communicate with stakeholders, product managers and technical leadership about ongoing efforts and team member activities.\n- Advise team members directly in calls or meetings and via pull requests regarding coding best practices and architectural decisions.\n\n**Requirements:**\n\n- Experience building, deploying, maintaining and ensuring performance of front-end user experiences under a timeline and with a team of developers to satisfy stakeholders.\n- Experience building user experiences in Wordpress with low response times for enterprise organizations.\n- Experience building and deploying back-end services to support front-end systems.\n- Experience leading teams of engineers\n- Expertise in Cloudflare caching and WordPress architecture applied to design, implement and deploy a Production-quality Wordpress solution\n- Technical skills required:\n - Wordpress Development (including Plug-ins, themes and templates)\n - Cloudflare experience implementing caching to improve response times for front-end systems\n - AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda)\n - PHP experience\n - CI/CD pipeline experience (Kubernetes)\n - Structured Database Design and Development (MySQL, etc.)\n - Git (branching strategies, pull requests and clean-up)\n\n**About Neighborhoods.com**\n\nNeighborhoods.com is the parent company of 55places.com, 55places Mortgage and its product namesake: neighborhoods.com.
