You're In Business

The project represents a legitimate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (NW Veterans in Technology) offering valuable career support to veterans in the Pacific Northwest. However, the submission itself is of extremely poor quality, containing demonstrable falsehoods (e.g., claiming 'most people have used my product' for a regional non-profit) and misuse of financial terms ('marketcap' for a non-profit). While the organization provides real-world utility on a local scale (revenue <$50k/yr based on public filings), the submission fails to provide verifiable evidence of the claimed impact and utilizes 'spam-like' responses for critical traction metrics.

Description
Northwest Veterans in Technology is a veteran-organized, community-focused organization with the goal to create a network in information technology and adjacent spaces (everyone is in tech) that can be accessed and used to elevate, educate, mentor, and advance the veteran workforce here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our vision is to span the Pacific Northwest region with an actively engaged, diverse and action-oriented network of veterans, their family and friends, HR leaders, and technology executives, that results in the hiring, retaining and promoting of veterans in the workforce. Community Engagement We welcome, support and engage with each other through meetups and organized events and activities out in the beautiful PNW. As members of a diverse veteran community, we celebrate our shared experience and our intersectionality. Networking We facilitate introductions and build professional relationships between veterans, peers, advisors, and hiring decision makers in the technology and adjacent industries. We’re the friend in the business who has connections and your back. Professional Development In addition to our professional certification grant program, NWVIT also organizes workshops, resume reviews, fireside chats and other educational programming for its members.
