While the core technology (HGMS and MelaPro Dx) demonstrates high potential utility and innovation in biotechnology, the submission contains numerous unsupported and contradictory claims. Assertions such as targeting 'everyone' for a melanoma biopsy test and claiming 'most people have used my product' are highly unrealistic. Verifiable traction is non-existent, resulting in a minimal score reflecting the lack of credible evidence.

Description
New River Labs is the leading provider of mass spectrometry imaging based tests designed to address clinically challenging problems and enable physicians to improve patient care. By targeting clinically challenging problems that are underserved, or unaddressed, by existing tests, we seek to help physicians reduce patient misdiagnosis, mistreatment, and overtreatment. Our molecular profiling technology, histology guided mass spectrometry (HGMS), is a proprietary application of mass spectrometry imaging. We evaluate the proteomic contents of targeted cells and develop a molecular snapshot of the active state of these cells. Through the combination of HGMS profiling and machine learning algorithms, we develop a spectral fingerprint to aid in clinical decision making, including disease diagnosis and the evaluation of treatment response. MelaPro Dx is now available to physicians. MelaPro Dx is the first objective proteomic test to differentiate between malignant melanomas and benign nevi. This ancillary test will provide dermatopathologists an ability to more accurately diagnose the 14% of skin biopsies collected due to suspicion of melanoma that are indeterminant following routine histopathology evaluation.
