Description
At Metharc we believe in a technically viable and economically sustainable future for zero carbon emission energy. We are a Danish SME working in the energy sector developing environmental and climate beneficial solutions for our energy security. While hydrocarbons (i.e., oil, gas, biogas) are widely acknowledged as the major source of our carbon induced climate problems, we also see them as a pathway for a solution to both our environmental and energy security. Our patented wellbore concept together with our patent pending processes will provide an enabling technology which combines both hydrocarbon gasification and electrochemical separation technologies for the generation of Hydrogen, together with the simultaneous capture of carbon, at source, in-situ. This technology will enable the conversion of existing wells from Oil & Gas production to Hydrogen production. In addition, it will future proof biogas production from agriculture by converting it to Hydrogen in Geothermal wellbores, enhancing the circular economy. Our mission is to design and develop energy technologies to enable a more environmentally responsible and sustainable use of our energy resources. Maintaining energy security, while preventing carbon from entering the atmosphere, enables the global transition to cleaner energy utilisation. Decarbonising hydrocarbon production to allow for continued access to existing, strategic national energy reserves will also facilitate the energy transition for developing countries, through enabling unlimited use of their known hydrocarbon resources in a climate beneficial manner.
