Gaining Momentum

Half Court Ventures is a legitimate micro-VC fund focused on AI/ML and B2B SaaS, demonstrating strong market timing and clear utility for early-stage founders. However, the submission contains inaccurate and contradictory claims in several fields (e.g., 'most people have used my product', 'everyone' for audience reach). Furthermore, technical innovation is evaluated at zero as this is an investment firm rather than a proprietary technology product. The resulting score reflects the firm's modest but verified portfolio size penalized by low submission quality and lack of direct technical product utility.

Description
Half Court Ventures is a very active seed stage investment fund. We have invested in 45+ startups in 30 months. Our great portfolio companies vary by vertical, size, background, gender and location, but are categorically like this: - 85% artificial intelligence or machine learning - 12% B2B SaaS - 3% weird (Yes, some deals have special circumstances) Founded by two long-time friends and veteran entrepreneurs, Rob May and Todd Earwood. We created this fund to bring a very unique differentiator to our investments: we both operate companies today. Rob runs a venture-backed AI company, Talla and Todd runs a growth consulting firm, MoneyPath helping Series B & C companies scale. We are not a fund created by former founders. We are active entrepreneurs who also invest. In our own startups, we have raised money from angels, small and large VCs, strategic investors and Wall Street. We have hired, fired, had tough board meetings and felt the many pains of growing, scaling and selling your company. Our perspective isn't dated or jaded. We just love building companies despite all the challenges that brings. Having both built and scaled multiple SaaS companies, our skill sets do overlap. To best help our companies, we focus our efforts on what our own current companies are doing: Rob with engineering, Todd with go-to market and both of us with fundraising. To go deeper on our portfolio, we have companies located on both coasts, some in the Midwest and a few international. Most were pre-revenue, a handful of pre-product and a couple who needed capital to truly scale. Some have been through major accelerators like YCombinator, Launch, Tech Stars and 500 Startups while others didn’t take or need that same route. Many of our founders are first-time entrepreneurs and of all founders, 25% are female. Ultimately, the common thread was we believed in the founder’s vision to do something big and our ability to help them when needed. If your company is early stage and aligns with what we’re doing, feel free to reach out to us here.
