Category Standard

Catalyst Healthcare is a verified, acquired health-tech company (acquired by Custom Health in 2022) with significant real-world utility in medication adherence (AdhereNet platform, spencer dispenser). While the project itself represents a successful exit with substantial innovation and utility, the submission quality is poor. The submitter provided demonstrably false claims for reach ('everyone') and traction ('most people have used my product') and confusing financial metrics. The score reflects the high intrinsic value of the verified technology and its acquisition status, heavily penalized for the inaccurate and low-effort data entry in specific fields.

Description
Catalyst Healthcare was acquired by Custom Health in January 2022. Prior to the acquisition, Catalyst was an award-winning health tech company operating in the U.S. and Canada. Founded and operated by a pharmacist, its proprietary AdhereNet® platform allows for remote monitoring that links pharmacists, patients and care teams to manage drug complexity and improve medication adherence. Through this medication adherence ecosystem, Catalyst’s suite of connected technologies gather, share and correlate data in real-time, allowing pharmacists to better serve their patients and to play a key role in population health. Since 2007, Catalyst’s patented AdhereNet platform has been linking real-time data from pharmacy systems and packaging automation to support safe medication practices with its oneMAR electronic medication administration record in long-term care. Recognizing the need for pharmacies to adopt automation and the barriers that keep their owners from doing it, Catalyst developed a central fill model for the cost-effective filling of multi-dose adherence packaging. In 2017, with mass access to the adherence packaging well established across the US and Canada, Catalyst launched an integrated at-home medication dispenser, spencer. spencer is a natural extension to the AdhereNet platform, connecting high risk patients in the home care setting to a multi-disciplinary care team to monitor medication adherence, ask active engagement questions for patient reported outcomes, link readings from blue tooth enabled devices to medication administration, and use telehealth capabilities with embedded camera, all in real-time.
