Carealia Health is a verifiable spin-off from the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), with legitimate R&D in dementia care and IoT interoperability (validated by EU projects like Dem@Care). However, the project appears commercially dormant since roughly 2018. The submission itself is of very low quality, containing demonstrably false claims (e.g., 'most people have used my product') and vague data ('AncientBlade', 'everyone'). While the underlying technology has scientific merit and addresses a genuine problem (real-world utility), the lack of recent traction, false usage claims, and poor submission quality result in a low Proof of Usefulness score.

Description
Carealia develops assisted living and eHealth solutions, by enhancing IoT products with smart analysis to support the increasingly ageing population. As a spin-off of a research institute in Greece, its results and ongoing pilots clinically validate its effectiveness for active and healthy ageing as well as the prognosis and care of chronic and neurodegenerative disease common in old age, such as dementia and Parkinson’s. With the increasing average lifespan, proper care worldwide is very often either inaccessible or non-affordable. The use of ICT promises to reduce costs, increase efficiency and reliability to keep people actively ageing, participating in society, self-managing their condition or significantly aiding human carers. Carealia's solutions work in two levels: first we integrate several off-the-shelf devices (smart home, lifestyle, fitness and health monitoring) and represent their measurements in a cross-device, cross-platform and cross-manufacturer interoperable way, creating a future proof and customisable solution for every individual or site. Secondly, this universally represented raw information is further processed to create tangible and more meaningful clinical, social, physical and medical information for end-users themselves, relatives and carers. For instance, fitness wearables together with home monitoring can be used to deduce walking outside home events, sleep problems, latency during home chores, stress and other behaviors and symptoms related to diseases.
