Industry Mainstay

Brookgate Ltd. is a verified, high-impact real estate developer responsible for the CB1 Estate and Cambridge North regeneration, hosting major tenants like Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft. While the project demonstrates exceptional real-world utility and significant traction through tangible asset delivery, the submission suffers from poor data entry (e.g., conflicting revenue figures, vague 'everyone' audience claims) and lacks software-based technical innovation. The score reflects a high-value physical business penalized for submission quality and category mismatch in a technology evaluation context.

Description
Brookgate is a development and investment company based in Cambridge, delivering high quality mixed-use urban projects. We specialise in the regeneration of strategic sites around city centre transport hubs creating office, hotel, student, residential and retail developments. Brookgate has already begun the delivery of the brand-new neighbourhood at Cambridge North, alongside landowners Network Rail and DB Cargo to form the Chesterton Partnership. The development includes Cambridge North train station, acting as a gateway to the area and improving connectivity across the city and beyond. A hotel and prime office space have already been delivered on the site. For the past 15 years Brookgate has led the transformational regeneration of the exciting CB1 Estate around Cambridge Station, a 1.5 million-sq-ft mixed-use development working in partnership with landowners Network Rail Property and Jesus College. This new estate in the heart of the city has revitalised the area around the station with a new public square, offices, homes, a hotel, student accommodation, shops and restaurants as well as the UK’s largest cycle park. CB1 has played a vital role in Cambridge’s leading tech story, attracting international companies such as Apple, Amazon, Microsoft Research, Samsung AI and Deloitte, while also accommodating fast growing local start-up businesses. CB1 includes a number of award-winning landmark office developments, including: 10 Station Road (Cambridge’s first NABERS Design for Performance-rated building), One Station Square (BCO Regional Award 2018, RICS Regional Award 2018 ‘Commercial Project of the Year’, ‘Best Commercial Project’ at the LABC Awards 2018); 50/60 Station Road (BCO Regional Award 2020); and a Team Achievement Award for Station Square from ICE East of England.
