You're In Business

Ampersand is a highly innovative, conceptual weekend project driven by a very real problem: AI token inflation and hallucination-induced bugs. While the technical novelty (graph-based, strict memory arena, WORM semantics) scores exceptionally well and the market timing is highly relevant to current AI development challenges, the project currently has near-zero verifiable traction (2 GitHub stars) and no audience reach. It is a promising, creatively designed prototype that effectively addresses a niche developer pain point, but requires actual user adoption and field testing to achieve a higher PoU score.

Project Details

Description
Ampersand is a graph-based programming language by HumpSoft designed for extreme predictability and AI token efficiency. Built to eliminate verbose syntax, it operates entirely within a single pre-allocated memory arena with no heap, malloc, or garbage collection after startup. The runtime strictly enforces 7 memory laws, using write-once (WORM) semantics and bounded execution cycles to completely eliminate race conditions and infinite loops by construction.
Audience Reach
Developers who are sick of burning through their mortgage payments on LLM tokens just to get a piece of code that compiles. It’s for anyone building deterministic data systems who wants absolute hardware control without the AI hallucinating an infinite loop or a memory leak.
Target Users
People who want their code to do exactly one thing, predictably, inside a fixed box. It’s designed for AI-assisted development where you want the LLM to just connect dots on a graph rather than guess its way through thousands of lines of verbose, ambiguous boilerplate.(If you know what I mean)
Technologies
Other, Around 2,000 lines of raw, spite-fueled C++ learned entirely over a single weekend. It bypasses standard heap management by using OS-level memory mapping (mmap / VirtualAlloc) to hijack an 8 MB arena and tell the OS to leave it alone.
Traction Evidence
If GitHub stars are a metric, it has 2, mine and my brother's.Hope thats meaningful. Beyond that, the only evidence of traction is that. It runs on both Windows and Linux, which is honestly a miracle given the circumstances. No code was shipped all month, but this weekend, a whole language was born out of spite.
